Law enforcement officers continue to fight the drug crisis in Louisiana. A recent bust in northeast Louisiana, in West Carroll Parish, is a new installment in that effort. Two men were arrested in the bust on suspicion of dealing illegal substances and face multiple charges, including drug charges.

The bust on the home allegedly yielded a significant amount of illegal drugs including methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana. In addition to the drugs, weapons and a large amount of money were also said to have been seized. The police report also indicated that digital scales and two motor vehicles were present at the location.

The two men apprehended in the course of the incident are both facing felony drug charges. One of the two gentleman is facing charges for illegal weapons possession, obstruction of justice and conspiracy in addition to the drug charges. The other gentleman is accused of intent to distribute and conspiracy.

Facing criminal prosecution in Louisiana can be a very stressful and intimidating experience. Every person who is charged with a crime is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty — beyond a reasonable doubt — in a criminal courtroom. Anyone facing drug charges may be scared and unsure of what to do or where to turn. Every person charged with a crime has a right to a criminal defense, and talking to an experienced criminal law attorney may provide some options. A knowledgeable lawyer can review the facts of the case and will focus on presenting a defense designed to achieve an optimal outcome for the client.
